I. DEFINITIONS
Personal Data Controller - Aleksandra Kaziniec and Marvin Ruciński, natural persons not conducting business activity, e-mail address kontakt@rentfriends.app, correspondence address as stated in the Application Terms of Service,
Cookies – IT data, small text files saved by the websites you visit and stored on the Devices through which you use the Controller's Website. Some Cookies are necessary for the website to work properly. Information collected in Cookies can be read by the Controller and by the providers of the tools listed in section IV.
Device – the electronic device through which you access the Controller's website.
User – a user of the website or of the RentFriends application
Application – the RentFriends mobile application and the website https://rentfriends.app, made available and operated by the Controller.
II. USE OF COOKIES
Through the website, the Controller uses Cookies and similar technologies (e.g. the browser's local storage, in which the User's consent choices are saved).
Cookies other than necessary ones are used only to the extent of the consents given by the User in the cookie banner. Consents can be changed or withdrawn at any time in the cookie settings available in the website footer.
The website uses Google Consent Mode v2. The Google Tag Manager script is loaded on every visit, but until consent is given, Google tools neither save nor read analytics or marketing Cookies and only send cookieless signals to Google (including information about the consent status, browser and device type, and the IP address to the extent necessary to transmit the data). Google uses these signals in aggregated form to estimate statistics and advertising effectiveness.
Information collected through Cookies is used to optimise the operation of the website and for statistical, functional and advertising purposes.
Cookies record the activity of the website User by recognising the Device, so that the website is displayed in a way optimised for the User's individual preferences.
The Controller makes efforts to ensure that the solutions used on the website are safe for Users' Devices. Cookies do not contain software and do not change the Device's configuration.
The Controller uses two types of Cookies:
Session cookies: files stored on the User's Device until the User leaves the website or closes the web browser. The saved information is then permanently deleted from the Device's memory. The session Cookie mechanism does not allow any personal data or confidential information to be collected from the User's Device,
Persistent cookies: stored on the User's Device until they are deleted. Files of this type remain on the user's device for the time specified in the file parameters or until the user deletes them manually. Ending the browser session or switching off the Device does not delete them from the Device.
By source, the Controller uses:
First-party cookies: files generated by the website and placed on it by the Controller (for example: necessary cookies),
Third-party cookies: information coming from external servers, e.g. advertising servers or providers of navigation services (maps or search engines). Files of this type make it possible to assess the effectiveness of advertising activities and to plan related activities in line with the user's preferences (for example: analytics cookies).
By function on the Website, Cookies are divided into:
Technical/necessary cookies – files necessary for the website to work properly, including: ensuring that the website displays correctly depending on the device the user is using or its settings; adjusting content on the website that is technically relevant to its operation (e.g. the website language); remembering whether the user has agreed to certain content being displayed,
Analytics cookies – files used to measure the effectiveness of our marketing activities without identifying users' personal data and to improve the functioning of our website, including: analysing website traffic statistics and verifying traffic sources (so-called referrals); detecting abuse in website traffic (e.g. artificial Internet traffic – bots); measuring the effectiveness of campaigns run for the Controller, e.g. in the Google advertising network or on external websites,
Functional cookies – files used to remember users' settings on websites (e.g. light or dark theme, language). As a result, after their first visit to a website and adjusting it to their preferences, users do not have to repeat the same settings when they visit it again. Files of this type are usually persistent Cookies,
Marketing/advertising cookies – files used to track the User's interests and preferences in order to tailor targeted advertising. These files are installed on the User's end device. Targeted ads may be displayed on other websites through remarketing. The Controller uses the Google Ads tool for this purpose. Not consenting to these Cookies has no negative effect on the use of the Website.
The user can delete Cookies from the browser at any time.
The mobile Application uses Cookies and similar technologies (device storage, device identifiers, including the IDFA or GAID advertising identifier) for purposes necessary for the Application to work, for analytics and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns (Google Analytics and Singular tools). On iOS devices, the advertising identifier is used only after consent is given in the system App Tracking Transparency prompt. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
III. HOW TO SET THE CONDITIONS FOR STORING OR ACCESSING COOKIES
The User can restrict or disable Cookies' access to their Device. If this option is used, it will still be possible to use the Controller's website, except for functions that by their nature require Cookies.
The User can change the Cookie settings independently and at any time, specifying the conditions for storing Cookies and for Cookies accessing the User's Device.
The User can change the settings referred to above using the web browser settings or the service configuration. In particular, these settings can be changed to block automatic handling of Cookies in the web browser settings or to notify the User each time Cookies are placed on the Device. Detailed information about the options and methods for handling Cookies is available in the software (web browser) settings. Below are links to information on deleting Cookies in some of the most popular web browsers:
The User can delete Cookies at any time using the functions available in the web browser they use.
Restricting the use of Cookies may affect some functions available on the Controller's website.
